Accessibility statement

Our aim
We want everyone to be able to use Mingleround: the organizers who run events and the people who register for them. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind the European standard EN 301 549.
Where we are
Mingleround partly meets this standard. This is our own assessment: there has been no independent audit, and we have not tested with a screen reader. In October 2026 we reviewed the whole application against WCAG 2.2 level AA in the code and fixed what we found. Among other things: every page has its own title, there is a skip link and a main area on every page, keyboard focus is visible and moves to confirmation steps and back, form fields have labels, error and status messages are announced, errors are tied to the field they are about on most forms, colours meet the required contrast, buttons are large enough to tap, links that open a new tab say so, QR codes and profile photos have text alternatives, the sender of each chat message is available to screen readers, the text on the room display grows when you zoom, pages stay usable on a 320 pixel wide screen (we checked the public pages), an error or a missing page has its own accessible page, and the emails we send are complete documents with a plain-text version. Automated tests check the colour contrast and some of the keyboard behaviour of key screens every time we change the application. What we know is still missing is listed under "Known limits".
Known limits
- Video calls. Calls at online events (an optional add-on) run inside a window provided by Whereby. How accessible the call itself is depends on Whereby, and we have not tested it with assistive technology.
- Groups of choices. On the registration form and the profile form, the groups of options (such as "I am" and "I'm open to meeting") are not yet announced by a screen reader with the name of the group, so it reads the options without saying what they are options for. The question is printed above each group.
- Organizer forms. On some organizer forms (for example billing, rounds and games) an error message is announced, but it is not linked to the particular field it is about. On the form for importing participants from a CSV file, the Privacy Policy link still sits inside the consent checkbox's label and does not say that it opens a new tab.
- Moving decoration. On the home page a soft light and the logo move slowly for as long as the page is open, and there is no button to stop them. They stop if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Demo video. The product video on the home page has no sound, captions or written description of what it shows.
- Testing. We have not tested with a screen reader (such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver or TalkBack), and we have not tested on every browser and device. The keyboard and screen-reader behaviour described above comes from reading the code and from automated checks in one browser, so we expect to find more things to improve.
Tell us about a problem
If something does not work for you, email info@mingleround.app. Tell us which page it was, what you were trying to do and, if you know it, which device, browser or assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 10 working days, and to offer another way to do what you needed in the meantime, for example by registering you ourselves.
If you are not satisfied with our answer
You can take your complaint to the supervisory authority in your country. In the Netherlands that is the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).
